Test Site for Root System Monitoring and Water Controlling
This platform consists of aboveground long-span rain shelter and traveling crane, as well as underground glass observation columns and lysimeters.
Main uses:
① to directly observe the growth status of crop root system;
② to analyze the images of crop roots in different soil layers or of different root orders;
③ to conduct measurement and analysis of all kinds of physiological and biochemical indices of crop root system;
④ to realize all-weather monitoring of plant evaporation, soil moisture and temperature in rhizosphere through the instruments attached;
⑤ to carry out root-cutting experiments in different soil layers;
to study the root senescence, and enzymes, phytohormones, and microbes in the rhizosphere.
